Meet The Editor

CariCari Rincker is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois and Washington D.C. Cari’s practice focuses on “Food, Farm & Family”. She is an award-winning blogger, prolific writer, and nationally recognized speaker. Cari compiled this book to be a guide for people going through a family law issue- whether it is a divorce or separation, domestic violence, cohabitation or marriage. Cari is especially excited to share the nonlawyer viewpoints in the book offering diverse perspectives on getting through the emotional divorce/separation process and moving on “Onward and Upward” to the next (and hopefully better) chapter of their lives.

Cari has developed a strong love for her skillful work as a family and matrimonial attorney. She is a trained mediator for divorces and child custody and visitation disputes. Cari is passionate about alternative dispute resolution with family and matrimonial cases, especially when children are involved, and aims to build stronger families–not tear them apart. Cari does a significant amount of work in Family Court litigating child custody and visitation, child/spousal support, and family offense petitions. She too handles both contested and uncontested divorces. Cari is a careful draftsman of nuptial agreements. Cari is a member of the matrimonial law committee for the Association of the Bar for the City of New York and the family law section for the New York State Bar Association.

Hearts-CariCari Rincker has completed the 40-Hour Basic Training, 24-Hour Divorce Mediation Training, and Community Dispute Resolution Apprenticeship through the New York Peace Institute. She also completed the 16-Hour Custody and Visitation Mediation Training through the Community Mediation Services, Inc. Cari has also completed the 18-Hour Basic Training through the State of New Jersey’s Office of Dispute Settlement and is also a R. 1:40 qualified mediator for the Civil, General Equity and Probate Cases and Civil Presumptive Mediation Program Roster in New Jersey.

Due to her passion for law and policy, Cari decided to complete her Juris Doctor from Pace University, School of Law, in White Plains, New York. During and after law school, Cari had diverse experiences working for a law firm in Cheyenne, Wyoming, being a Junior Delegate for the Mission of the Marshall Islands to the United Nations General Assembly and working as a Consultant for the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Cari is a passionate advocate for her clients and is excited to share this guide with you. Cari loves playing sports, including running, biking, swimming, volleyball and yoga. You can find her in the cheapseats watching baseball, or at a sports bar cheering on Aggie football or Illini basketball. Cari is active on social media and authors the blog on “Food, Farm & Family Law” available at www.rinckerlaw.com/blog.
